Infrastructure Improvements


Bartlett Road
Bartlett Road has been improved with curb and gutter and sidewalks, tree plantings, street-light standards, and removal of most of the overhead utility lines.


Shelby Street
Shelby Street, south of Stage Road, has been improved with widening, curb and gutter and sidewalks, tree plantings, and street-light standards.


Street Lights
Period street lights have been installed along Stage Road and Court Street.

Gateways
As part of the on-going emphasis on creating a unique identity for the area, the Commission constructed "gateway" sites at three of the four approaches to the area, with small gazebos, extensive landscaping, and "Bartlett Station" signs:

  • West (Stage Road west of Shelby Street).
  • North (Bartlett Boulevard north of the railroad overpass).
  • South (Bartlett Boulevard at W.J. Freeman Park).

Station Banners
As part of the on-going emphasis on creating a unique identity for the area, the Commission has approved to hang “Bartlett Station” banners along major streets and intersections.

Police Precinct
A Bartlett Police Department station currently is currenty located at 5868 Stage Road, in the Bartlett Station Municipal Center.


Other Projects
Projects currently under discussion or design include the following:
    Public Parking
       Public parking is proposed to the south of the Stage Road frontage. 
       In conjunction with the MS Overlay District, this could take part of the required off-street parking burden off the individual properties and allow more building floor area to be constructed along Stage Road.
